Now I Know plays on both the familiar rhythm of the alphabet song and the shifting visual logic of a kaleidoscope. Constructed from salvaged painted wood and vintage alphabet blocks, the composition explores childhood learning as an act of pattern recognition, play, and discovery.
The rotating geometric forms suggest movement and transformation, while the alphabet blocks anchor the work in early memory, language, and foundational systems of understanding. Original paint, wear, and imperfections remain visible throughout the piece, allowing the materials to retain traces of prior lives and histories.
Balancing order and improvisation, the work reflects on how we assemble meaning from fragments — through repetition, color, structure, and imagination.
